Oliver is a politics graduate from Lancaster University and a proud socialist. He first won his seat in a May 2018 dual by-election, and was re-elected in the May 2019 local elections. He is Chair of the Council’s Personnel Committee, responsible for human resources, staff and conditions of service. He believes in a council that works for the people and continues to protect vital frontline services even in the face of brutal austerity. He is currently the President of Lancaster University Students’ Union.
